Armadale-WA web site home page

This web site relates to Armadale, Western Australia.

Armadale is the south-eastern-most suburb of Perth, the state capital of Western Australia.

My name is Bret Busby, and I have lived in Armadale, WA, for 16 years, as of September 2009.

I have created this web site, to publish material relating to Armadale in Western Australia.

I will be working on this web site as time goes on.

I stood as a candidate for the Lake Ward in the Armadale City Council Election for in the 2009 local government election. My web page about the election, is at web page about the 2009 Armadale City Council election .

As you may or may not be aware, from time to time, the local newspapers publish Letters To the Editors, from me. To see the full text of the letters that I have sent, go to the web page at Letters To Editors .

I stood as a candidate for the seat of Armadale in the 2005 state election. My policy statement from the election, is at Bret's policy statement .

One of the issues involved in that election, was the issue of trading hours in WA. If you want to read some real facts about trading hours in WA, and, if you have an open mind about trading hours in WA, I have a web page about trading hours in WA, at Bret's Trading Hours Web Page .

I intend to maintain a web page for comment about issues that affect Armadale, as they arise. The web page about issues affecting Armadale, is at Armadale issues .

I also have a web page for community organisations and community facilities, to support the community organisations and facilities, at community facilities . The inclusion of the community organisations and community facilities in this web site, does not imply that any of the organisations or facilities endorse the opinions expressed elsewhere in this web site, including the web page that was my policy statement in the 2005 state election, unless otherwise stated.

I also have started a web page for sports and recreation organisations that service Armadale, at sports and recreation organisations . The inclusion of the sports and recreation organisations in this web site, does not imply that any of the organisations endorse the opinions expressed elsewhere in this web site, including the web page that was my policy statement in the 2005 state election, unless otherwise stated.

I also have a web page for local businesses, to support local businesses, at local businesses . The inclusion of the businesses in this web site, does not imply that any of the businesses endorse the opinions expressed elsewhere in this web site, including the web page that was my policy statement in the 2005 state election, unless otherwise stated.

I also have a web page for pictures of Armadale, at Pictures of Armadale . New pictures have been added.

On 15 October 2008, I have added to this web site, for New Zealand citizens, a web page at http://www.armadale-wa.net/NZ-Election_2008.html , that is about registering and voting in the New Zealand national parliamentary election of 2008. I have included this web page, as many New Zealand citizens live in Armadale, and elsewhere in WA, and, at least 500,000 New Zealand citizens who are eligible to register, and, to vote, live outside New Zealand, and could change the outcome of the election. As at November 2008, the total population of New Zealand citizens, appears to be about 5 million, of which 600,000 live outside New Zealand. If you are a New Zealand citizen who lives outside New Zealand, you might be interested in visiting http://www.keanewzealand.com/index.html .

Should Australia become a republic? Should New Zealand become a republic (Quite a few NZ citizens live in the Armadale area, and in WA)? Should either country remain as a member of the British Commonwealth? Should the voters for either country, have any say in the matter? Have a look at the web page at http://www.armadale-wa.net/politics/RepublicModels.html

My web page about Human Rights, is at http://www.armadale-wa.net/politics/HumanRights.html .

We need a new and more democratic electoral and parliamentary system, at each of the state and federal, parliamentary levels. See the web page at http://www.armadale-wa.net/politics/MMP_Considerations.html

In the absence of a democratic system of election of parliaments in Australia, we have a serious problem of organised crime prevailing. See the web page at http://www.armadale-wa.net/politics/ParliamentaryOrganisedCrime.html

Australia needs a new and fairer income tax system, and a new and fairer system for pension and and other social welfare benefits. Have a look at the web page at http://www.armadale-wa.net/politics/PensionsAndTaxProposal.html
